College Essentials 2022
Going to college for the first time or returning as an upper classman? Moving into the dorms can feel strange at first, but the key is making it feel like home. Here are 5 things to make your room feel like your own.
1) Pictures
Pictures of your loved ones and friends can help when classes are stressful. You can hang up polaroids with clips on twine, have a framed picture or two on your desk, or even just hang up a bunch of 4x6 pictures printed from the store with putty. No matter how you choose to do it, it’ll add that personal touch to your room and put a smile on your face.
2) Lights
Campus lighting can leave much to be desired. Consider hanging up string lights above your bed or around your room to add that extra light and make it feel cozier.
3) Coffee Maker
Nothing says college like caffeine. Whether you’re a daily coffee drinker or just use it for the occasional pick-me-up, a coffee maker in your room is key. Not only is it convenient, but it can also save so much money.
4) Snacks
Just like coffee can help with late night study sessions, so do snacks. If you need a quick bite in between meals or need a midnight snack, having food in your room is a necessity.
5) Pillows
Most of the time, you’re sharing your room with at least one other person, so your bed is the only place that is truly your own. With that, you want to make it as comfortable as possible! Not only for those mid-day naps, but also for cuddling up with your laptop and a movie after a long day or getting those precious few hours of sleep before class after staying up way too late with your friends. Having the right pillow(s) and maybe even a mattress topper is the best way to do that!
So grab that Malpaca pillow, a blanket, and some snacks to enjoy your new home for the school year!
