Sustainable & Ethical

Raised exclusively for their fleece, Alpaca are sheared only once a year in the spring and great care is taken not to distress the animal. They are much happier and cooler in warm weather once the fleece is removed, and it will grow back by the time cool weather comes again.

The eco-friendly Malpaca® pillow covers are made with organic cotton and viscose bamboo that is grown without pesticides and is 100% biodegradable.  Even when thrown away the fabric can be completely naturally decomposed in soil.

Completely Natural

Alpacas are raised in a stress-free natural environment without fertilizers or herbicides. They are not dipped in pesticide baths, and no chemicals, dyes, or bleach are used during the fiber processing.

Malpaca® pillows are filled with 100% natural alpaca fleece and are hypo-allergenic. Most people who are sensitive to wool products find that they are not sensitive to Alpaca. Alpaca fleece does not contain lanolin, which holds dust and microscopic allergens that create an allergic reaction to sheep's wool.

Our pillow covers are made with a blend of cotton and viscose bamboo.  Malpaca’s unique pillows are ideal for those that suffer from allergies including sheep's wool and down feathers.

Perfect Comfort

Alpaca fiber is light, durable and a powerful insulator with hollow air pockets inside that can trap or release heat creating a natural chemical-free insulation without irritation.  This structure allows the fiber to naturally wick or pull moisture away from the skin resulting in better comfort.

Malpaca® pillows covers are made of a blend of organic cotton and viscose bamboo, a light, wicking and breathable fabric.  With a texture and sheen similar to silk or cashmere, our pillows are comfortable next to your skin year-round, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.

Available in soft, medium and full comfort fill levels, Malpaca® pillows provide the perfect level of support for a restful night’s sleep. Discover how comfortable the right pillow can be!

SNUGGLE WITH SOFTNESS

Softer than cashmere and lighter than wool, alpaca fleece is often called the ‘fiber of the gods’.  The legends say the gods were so pleased with the Inca people and how they lived they created the Alpaca as a gift to them.

The structure of alpaca fiber is finer compared to wool and cashmere.  Alpaca fibers have rounded scales on its surface that are close to the shaft, giving a smooth and silky feel.

Alpacas are the most environmentally friendly of agricultural grazing animals.

Eating less than other grazers, alpacas are kinder to pastures, preferring to eat a variety of plants and grasses without disrupting root systems.  Their soft, padded feet are gentle on the terrain and do not cut into the topsoil and damage plant life.  They truly live lightly on the earth.
